Dear Colleagues,

Dr. Patricia M. (Pat) Stevens, 2006-07 Faculty Senate President has resigned from the presidency.  She informed me of her intentions yesterday. Pat's resignation is effective as of today.  The Senate's Constitution states that in the absence of the President, the President-Elect shall substitute for the President .  Consequently, I will assume the position of President.  

During this period of change, I ask for your patience and understanding as I assume the responsibilities of Faculty Senate President.  Pat has been bringing me up-to-date on her schedule of meetings, issues, and other matters of concern.  In the meantime, I will attend the meetings that she was scheduled to attend.

Please join me in thanking Pat for her leadership during the time that she has served as our President.  Your continued interest and support in improving communication for the university community is still needed and desired.  I look forward to working with you.
