Dr. Robin Cox , professor in the School of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, is the award winner in the sciences, engineering and math category.

Dr. Cox has been at the University of Memphis since earning her PhD in Audiology in 1974 at Indiana University. During that time, she has won numerous awards, including the 2005 American Academy of Audiology James Jerger Career Award for Research. In 1990 she was named a Fellow of the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association, a distinction limited to less than 1% of the association's 115,000 members. She is also a prolific scholar, having published 62 articles in refereed journals and given over 130 convention presentations and invited talks. Dr. Cox is regarded as one of the world leaders in the area of rehabilitative audiology, particularly her work in the development of outcome measures in hearing aid research.
